This is very helpful and I have managed to use Air Transfer to copy audio and video files to my iPad. I do have the top row of colored icons including iMovie. I do NOT have any of the shaded icons on the second row.
For some reason the main .mov file does not work in iMovie, I get an error message that the file is not usable by iMovie. I am in the process of adding the video to my camera roll to see if this will work.
Do you have suggestions? Firstly about Air Transfer and secondly about .mov files not working with iMovie.
The problem with Air Transfer was only that the video file was not in the right formula. After several failures I found Freemake Video Creator, which does just what the name implies. I used this free software to convert the MOV file to the correct MP4 format. There are a few settings you need to get right and I will document them.
